When will we truly realize that we are not God and that only He can change the impossible? Why do we keep worrying over situations we can't control? Why do we have to be reminded that only God can work things out best, because only He can see what is ahead. He alone is God and we are His children that He loves beyond measure! So why do we worry and allow that worry to steal our joy? Jesus said He came that we would have life and have it more abundantly(John 10:10), but when we allow our minds to worry over things we cannot change, we are living beneath our means and become unable to enjoy life as He had intended.
I use the Serenity Prayer in my daily prayer time: "God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference. Living one day at a time; enjoying one moment at a time; accepting hardships as the pathway to peace, as it is; not as I would have it; trusting that He will make all things right if I surrender to His will; that I may be reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy with Him forever in the next. Amen!"
This is our closing prayer following Celebrate Recovery meetings and it reminds us that having been reborn in Christ Jesus; recreated, delivered and restored from past hurts, bad habits and hang-ups; we have submitted to God's will and rely on His guidance in every day situations. I came to realize that Celebrate Recovery was not just for those who had problems with being addicted to drugs, alcohol, or bad habits, but this liberating program was also for people like myself who had difficulty recovering from loss and despair that had kept me from enjoying life due to circumstances beyond my control. We all need Hope and the Courage to surrender All our worries and hang-ups into God's hands so we can be Free, once and for all time, by releasing our worries into His care!
I realized that many of us face situations and devastating losses throughout life that leave us hiding behind masks to overshadow our hurts, to keep people from seeing our grief as we tend to hide our true feelings because we are bound by our past hurts and hang-ups. I thank the Lord Jesus that not only did He come to set us free from all our sins, but also to heal the broken-hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives(bound), recovery of sight to the blind(helping us to see more clearly) and to free those who are oppressed(Luke 4:18-20). God wants us to be Totally Free in Him; not only from our sins, but from every hurt, every hang-up, every bad memory of physical or verbal abuse; free from any thing that keeps us from being Totally Free to live that life of abundance in Christ Jesus! God cares about every part of our life and Every Thing that keeps us from being Happy In Him and He eagerly waits for us to release them into His care!
So why do we worry when worry gets us no where; and casting our cares upon Jesus sets us free? He doesn't want us to stop worrying about the 'what if's, or the 'if I had of's, that so easily weigh us down with needless worries of life. He wants us to cast them off and fully trust in Him; in His will, His ways, and His timing. He wants us to release yesterday's events and enjoy today; to let by-gones be by-gones. We can't change what has been done, but we can learn by past mistakes and allow those mistakes, those stumbling stones to become stepping stones; taking us from one level of glory to another. As we learn to release hold of life's failures and begin to fully trust God, we allow Him to liberate every thing within us that has kept us bound and enjoy the BEST life possible. He wants us to enjoy this life He has given us, one day at a time, freely dependent on Him!
So as you go about your day, I pray you choose to release your worries into His care and allow Him to handle them in His way so You can live that abundant life free from every thing that would otherwise try to bind you in any way! Remember that "He whom the Son sets free is free indeed!"(John 8:36)
Have a wonderfully blessed day, dear friends. God loves you and so do I~~~
