Today I am mindful of how truly vital spiritual teachers are to young Christians and how very thankful I am to have been blessed with some great ones in my lifetime; including my own Mom and Dad; who taught me about Jesus' divine love, not only in word, but by example; and in doing they have all worked together and built me up on a sure foundation in Jesus Christ. We need to be mindful of what we are teaching our children and those who are young Christians, who are watching and listening to us; because they are trusting us to teach them at a very young age, how to walk and talk through life. Living by example in God's divine Love assures these young eyes with young hearts who are seeking to please their loving teacher, to eagerly seek out what we are teaching so they can follow by our example. Each step we take, each word we speak, each action we show, is quickly picked up by young children; so we must be mindful to clothe our own self with His righteousness and allow God to fill our hearts with His love before we set out on our daily routines. With God leading the way, we will walk in His footsteps, speak His Words in kindness, and shower those who follow us with His Love, while walking in the purpose God has predestined for our life. The seeds of life are sown very early and continue to mature throughout life; and with proper nourishment the seeds sown will reach forth and produce a great harvest that can withstand the toughest of times; because of the earlier nourishment given. Proverbs 22:6 tells us,"Train up a child in the way he should go; and when he is old, he will not depart from it."
Life can be hard and how we react to difficult times depends greatly upon what we have been taught and seen over the years by those who have greatly influenced our life. Teaching our young children and those young in the Lord about God's Word by example, will either carry them through to victory or cause them to crumble under the stress of the load. It's the strength from a sure foundation; the strength planted deep within the soul; that springs forth in hard times and carries us through the toughest of times. That is why it is so necessary to build lives upon a sure foundation and that foundation is none other than Jesus Christ and His righteousness. Jesus tells us in Mt 7:24,25 "Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock; and the rain descended, and the flood came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock."
Our life is represented as a house, and we are encouraged by Jesus to build upon a rock, the sure foundation of Jesus Christ; so when the storms of life descend upon us, and the storms of life beat against us, and the floods come upon us; and winds of trial and discouragement swirl around us; because of That Sure Foundation, we are steadfast in Him; and we stand firm...... unshakable...... unmovable...... knowing in Whom we trust.
As you enjoy this beautiful day God has given, may you be mindful that there are young eyes watching how you handle situations that may arise in any given day; and that you hold the power to influence them and instruct them by example; of that sure foundation built upon Jesus Christ. I pray that your anchor holds the solid rock, and if not, that you secure your anchor in Jesus today, without delay. Be Blessed, dear friends. God loves you and so do I~~~
