While reading in John Ist chapter this morning, I couldn't seem to get away from several verses of scripture beginning with vs 9-12. "The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world.
10 He was in the world, and though the world was made through Him, the world did not recognize Him.
11 He came to that which was His own, but His own did not receive Him.
12 Yet to all who did receive Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God."
Back to V 11,12. "He came to that which was His own, but His own did not receive Him; Yet to all who did receive Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God!" What a powerful statement; to be given the right to become children of God....Children of the most High God! Our very own creator came into the very world He had created, for the sole purpose of becoming acquainted with us and make it possible for us to become His very own children. Think about that for a moment. WOW! Our Creator wanted that personal relationship with us, His creation. He didn't create us just as something He could put on a shelf and look at; but He created us for a personal relationship with Him; to become His family; to walk with Him and talk with Him as we journey through this land; and here Jesus was, in our very midst; and we didn't even know Him.
Have you ever been to a family event and had a feeling as if your family wasn't proud of you simply because they weren't spending time with you or introducing you to others around them? Well, can you imagine how our Lord must feel when we do the same with Him? There have been times in my life as a mother, that I get a longing to spend some extra quality time with my children and I feel an emptiness, an ache within my heart, anxiously awaiting the time when I get to see them again; to hug on them and love on them for just a little while. Even so, being created in God's very own image, you know we feel much like He does; and if we feel that longing to be around our loved ones; don't you know He wants the same from us?.... His children? So why do we not make time for Him? The One who loves us unconditionally; The One who is forever faithful; The One who is forever, Our Father!
It only takes a couple seconds to whisper,"I love you, Lord".....and less than a second to feel His warm love in response; so why not make this day bring bountiful blessings; not only to you, but also to your Heavenly Father; in honor of our Lord Jesus, from whom all blessings flow. Have a wonderfully blessed day, dear friends. God loves you and so do I~~
Amen. As Jesus took time to give to us I pray to always take time to give back to Him. As I do, my strength becomes strong. Praise the Lord.
