To Know Him Is To Love Him

I love how John tells it just like it is as he begins his writings in the Bible:
"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.
There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. This man came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all through him might believe. He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. That was the true Light which gives light to every man coming into the world.
He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him. He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him. But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth."
John had found His Savior and declares Jesus' love boldly to all who would hear. He declared himself to be the disciple whom Jesus' loves, I believe because He knew Who Jesus clearly was, and was so thankful for His divine Love toward him and all who would believe and receive Him. John clearly tells it like it is without hesitation and declares Jesus in God from the very beginning, and although Jesus' own people refused to accept Him, those who did believe received His merciful love and free gift of salvation.
In today's world, He continues to plead with mankind to come to know Him; signs of the times appear and people begin to panic from life threatening storms of life and they will pray for help; but when the threat ceases, their hearts and ears close once again to God's voice as they return to their old ways. When will they wake up and see the mercies of our God who has shown so much grace to each one of us, to our families and to our nation; and All He asks in return is a simple lasting relationship with us.
God desires a relationship with a pure and simple child-like trust; so He can walk and talk with us and literally share life with us. He wants us to come to know Him and the fullness of His grace toward us. There is nothing greater than the Love of God and the security that comes from knowing we are His and He is ours. He desires us to come to Him when we're weary, to snuggle up inside His loving arms; so He can rest us and give us peace within.
Just as John came to Know Jesus, he came to love Him; and as we come to know Jesus today, so do we. God loves us unconditionally and has given all of us so much; why can't we give Him a little love in return? Why can't we make a little time to love on Him for a while? There is No greater joy than to make someone feel loved and everyone loves a hug now and then, so why not take time to give God a great big hug as we curl up in His arms for a little while and love on Him in return? Just warms my spirit thinking about it!
I pray you have a wonderful day, dear friends, God loves you and so do I~~~
